FALL

click on the image to enlarge

I draw in the evening, before going to bed, cause there are so many non-art related things (or perhaps they are related!:) going on right now, that I have no time to do anything else than these late-evening drawings. This is a selfportrait, drawn with my left, non dominant hand, I'm glad cause right now this apparent frustration and feeling of a "crammed head" is transforming into renewed energy.

Paris is getting a bit stressed, as always in the Fall season, many people in the metro, everybody is busy doing this and that, a lot of running around and doing, you know?

While I just invite you to sit down, and watch a cloud in the sky passing by, or an ant walking towards a blade of grass, or (if you are in the city), a pigeon find a nice big grain...:)

love
Andrea

Well, Andrea, you know I am all about slowing down and doing slow things. Sometimes, however, it just seems as though the energy around us catches us up in a whirlwind, and we have no idea what has happened! It not only sounds like this is what is happening in Paris, but it looks like it from this wonderful drawing! I love you have done this with your non-dominant hand! How great is that? All of that head energy is being put right out on the paper! Great Drawing!

I hope things Slow Down there very soon for you - that Paris and Andrea find some calmness in the contemplative Winter!

Lovely drawing, i love this loose lines a lot! And with your non dominant hand, that's great. It proves even more how good you are at drawing/painting. But i can imagine how you're frustrated by being too busy so there's no time for art. Drawing in the evenings of at midnight is great though, i think. Because of the peace and silence then.

Take Care!

I can see the frustration in your head going on in your drawing. Guess the fall time there is visiting time in Paris for those on vacation. I find that I am busy now too. lots to do with leaves falling and prepping for winter. You think your done and theres more to do.

Love the drawing...I must try this with non dominant hand...I see your frustration, feel it in the lines and squiggles...
remember to smell the roses too.

Wonderful evocation of your feelings in this lovely drawing. Wow. I can just feel the stress from your words too. All that busyness, endemic to a large city perhaps? Me, I'd rather watch the ant for sure. Or maybe two days of frenetic, then 30 of watching ants. Take care of you. Suki

That is a great drawing exercise to relieve the stress. Great drawing! Lots of energy. Somehow I've pictured the French as being much more laid back... and relaxed... and us Americans as always being on the fast track. Hope it slows down for you soon. Hello from the Ozarks!

Well, no I don't know what Paris is like in the fall, but I can imagine, haha!

I love this drawing, though! Very expressive of the kind of emotions you're describing and the fact that you used your non-dominant hand makes it that much more interesting!

I couldn't do this with my DOMINANT hand - just love the way it looks. You can see all the thoughts and whatever swirling around in and out of your head.
I always thought of Paris in the fall as mellow - guess that was wrong.

This is just so gorgeous. Loose lines, but not sloppy...

You have to be ambidextrous, right? If not, I'm even more in awe.

Lovely work.

I really love how you used your non-dominate hand here. I believe that this allows for a different perspective or "mindset" to be reached. The focused chaos of your drawings is intriguing and inspiring. art
