Little drawings done while metroing yesterday and then later at night, right before going to sleep and today at noon, again metroing. I always take a few pens with various tip-sizes with me in my bag. If it is possible for me to draw, (no strike anymore:) I fish in the bag for my Moleskine and a pen.
This time I fished the sign pen which makes thick black lines. Good for negative space. In general I don't like to draw "little", I don't like it at all. But here I had a lot of fun and I can't wait to continue.... I love these tiny little squares. Some of them have a mini-story to tell, some don't.
(In the meantime I prepared the acrylic-paint washes I'll use for the headdress of my next mask and hope to get to the painting this evening)

Oh, I see the thief in the market in the bottom "story frame". The last photo says a lot...gone, empty purse, got away...
Love all the kitties in the windows, and one I think with you too?
What a fun way to spend metroing time.
I look forward to this next mask.
PS, I could make a quilt from this!
LOL
Cestandrea,
I love the sketches you do every day. And you have so many interesting art talents. Thanks for showing them all. You inspire me. By the way, I worked on your picture a bit. Will post it again when I'm finished.
Chris
Great drawings! Love the kitties!
Sweet little sketches. Almost like a story cartoon. How can you prepare acrylic washes? Don't they dry out??
Suki, I dilute acrylic paint with water and keep them in little plastic containers with a lid that closes firmly. You can keep it some time like this (the longer you keep it, the odder it smells:)
This is cool.. how did you do that with ink. guess being small it didnt take that long but it is like Lynn said. quiltable.
I see the Theif and you too?
I didn't see the thief until you two talked me into seeing him:) Now I see him:)
The little pictures are done with an ink pen, this one has a tip like a thick felt pen so that the black space is quickly filled.
fingers type faster then brain.. ThIEf.. sigh. I can spell.. but my fingers can't. lol
Anyway your subconscious mind took over I bet.;)
Oscar has his own little story-board, what a luck cat.
The last 3 had me baffled - what were they about until they became about 'the thief'? An arguement?
Lovely work, such a great idea working small and quickly... I may have a go at this myself, perhaps if I have spare time at the airport ;-)
Loved seeing this city story unfold. I love colour too, so I can see why working with only black and white, meant that you were looking for respite.
Okay - I just realized now who the creatures are in your little Mini spaces drawings in the fourth row the first drawing (of the kitty and dog). Of course - it dawned on me........ it's Gizmo and Oscar. I think they would be best friends! Both black and white - both shamefully spoiled.
I have decided that the picture of the negative space kitty and dog (in the fourth row the first picture)must surely be a picture of Oscar and Gizmo. Both black and white and both shamefully spoiled!! I think they would be the best of friends!
