Social events and jewelry in the museum

Hello everybody, I guess I must have gone through an energetic low after a weekend full of social events:)

A lovely dinner on Friday evening with a Germand friend and her husband, we had fondue savoyarde, cheese fondue, much fun and way too much white wine...

A museum visit on Saturday morning (blessedly the museum opens only at 11 a.m) and then lunch with two other friends. We spent hours in the museum, enjoying the great exhibition of tribal art in the Musée du Quai Branly (my favourite museum in Paris) and finally had lunch at 3h30 p.m. !

Although we talked a lot while looking at all the treasures inthe museum, I took some time to sketch lovely jewelry for you. These are of North-American and South-American origin. The turquoise necklace is a reproduction of an Inka necklace, you can buy those in the museum shop.
I definitely have to return to the museum and sketch more, there are big vertical drawers full of
jewelry. I guess I have to make myself lock into the museum at night:)

These are:
a turquoise earring with indigoblue beads, a ivory pendant, a turtoiseshell comb, a gold and a silver earring A silver earring, a carved-wood pendant with a golden chain, two silver pendants, one with a leather loop.

Sounds like a busy but fun weekend. Love the drawings. Soft and wonderful as usual.

Ohhh Andrea! More jewelry! I love your jewelry drawings a lot. The turquoise is very familiar to me...since the southwest US is full of it. These are really very beautiful pieces, so I can understand why you would want to lock yourself in for more sketching! Beautiful!

I am glad you had such a lovely weekend with friends. The fondue party sounds wonderful...I learned to enjoy those a lot when we would visit some friends in Germany. It sounds like a beautiful time.

As always, thanks for sharing with us, Andrea!

Andrea - don't get hooked on jewelry - speaking from recent experience, it's easy to get into and hard to get away from...and then you have to find a place for it (like sell it so you can make some more!).

What a lovely weekend. Am totally jealous. =]

Tagged you over at my blog - come see!

Andrea, I really missed you and miss Doodle. Happy both of you are back.
These jewelries are fantastic.... Your vivid colors have given them a second life, I think.
Thanks a lot.
