Portrait of the model Mariacarla

I have been reading some "woman's" magazines lately. There was a coverage about an Italian topmodel, Mariacarla, and the pictures of her were so beautiful that I wanted to do a portrait in watercolour. I'm not fascinated by "magazine-beauties" in general but I always thought that this childwoman has something special.

The portrait is 30 x 40 cm. I painted it with the hair cut off, as it was in the picture..

Andrea I have just spent time reading the interview with you which was published a few days ago. I am so glad to hear that there are plans to publish Miss Doodle because I have been wanting to ask you about buying some Miss Doodle postcards, etc. I think it will be a huge succes!!
I also love your other work. You are an inspiration to many.
Thanks also for your kind comments on my blog.
Have a wonderful day,
Laura

nice little painting. When I was in high school I used to draw from the models in magazines all the time to learn about the proportions of the face! It was great fun.

Lovely portrait. She has something serious or somber about her look here. I have never heard of her. You really have a special touch with portraits.

Andrea...you have clearly captured something in this portrait! Look at her eyes! There is something behind them which is haunting! She is clearly a beauty and as you said...a real childwoman. A beautiful and haunting painting...all at once. I like the way the hair has been cropped at the top! It seems it needs to be that way, doesn't it?

Thanks so much for sharing this with us here! Beautiful work!

Schön, daß du wieder da bist!
