Exploring Amber

4 studies in my watercolour sketchbook. Before doing a bigger painting, I wanted to explore this beautiful substance. The way it captures light demands all your attention while painting.

4 Studien zum Thema "Bernstein". Man muss aufmerksam hinschauen, dann sieht man wie das Licht mit den Farben spielt, oder besser: wie es die Farben einfach erst entstehen lässt...

You have captured the feel of amber so beautifully. A difficult thing to do. I love amber beads and have an amber ring. It is so light yet has such depth. Hope yr having fun being a tour guide to beautiful Paris.

Ohh Andrea, this is a real treat to peek into your working sketchbook! I really like the way you have worked with the paint to bring out the light qualities of the amber...that is one of the greatest challenges.

As always, this is beautiful work!
