Metroheads - Woman with ticket and scarf

Summer and circumstances are driving me away from the computer. I'm glad about it cause I give my eyes a break and my mind too, but at the same time I'm feeling a bit as if I abondoned my friends here in Blogland.

Okay so now it is Monday, and I'm back again with another Metrohead for you only!

The little woman with the sunglasses, the scarf and the Pass Navigo - it doesn't rain and it doesn't snow, she is not blind and it is very very hot here in the metro-car. Perhaps she just likes those dark sunglasses, scarfs and coats. The Pass Navigo is an electronic metro ticket, it has your picture and name on it, you put it into a machine, you choose you ticket (monthly, weekly), you put in your credit card and the code and the Pass Navigo is charged. When you hold it over a special electronical reader which is integrated in the gate, you hear a BEEEEP, and the gate opens (most times you have to push against rotating aluminium bars).

Morning Andrea, When the weather is good it's a shame to be stuck indoors on the Computer.
Have a good week

Hi Andrea,

I think we can all understand a rest from the computer. I think it is a good idea to rejuvenate and get some other things done, too. It is summer and I am feeling very similar to you these days.

Now this little Metrohead...it is funny how she is all bundled up in winter wear. The sunglasses can almost be explained by saying she is not happy and doesn't want you to see her tear-stained eyes. But the heavy clothes...whew! I am not sure. She is a very interesting figure, and I can see how she caught your eye.

You have a real story going here with the Metroheads. As always I love your paintings of these characters!

Have a Beautiful Day!

Much healthier I think to be out enjoying the beautiful summer than inside staring at a computer screen. Hurrah for you. Well, interesting woman. How can she bear it. Interesting about the metro ticket. I didnt know about that. Have a happy summer day. Suki

Kim, yes I can see that you are feeling very similar these days, LOL! I think it is great to get a break only to come back refreshended and inspired.
Thanks so much for your always great encouragement, and it's funny how I now feel different during my metroing, I just love this great meltingpot full of beautiful models! Each one of them is different and it is a pleasure to draw them. Lately I admit I got a lot of people "from behind":) cause the ones' with the faces turned to me were too close and I didn't dare sketching them cause if they catch you sketching them, I fear they lose the natural way...and also they feel undressed, so to speak...

Suki:) you are so right although I admit I'm not all the time outside:) well, I try to get out each morning for an hour, just after getting up at around 7:30, but even inside summer is making the things like paper and colour more interesting than a computer screen:) (which, in winter, has a warming and comforting effect, at least on me:)

Peter, yes perhaps she hasn't seen him for a long time, and the scarf was a Christmas gift?:)

It definitely IS summer, not in Norwich?:) Have a great time outside!

We all need a little break for the usual. It does refuel one alot.
It is summer and I am out with my flowers alot too.
I think Mz Metro head doesnt want to be recognized so she bundles up. She might be someone famous and doesnt want to know she is on a secret meeting with her lover. :)

Those urban eccentrics are very sketchable. Yours makes her rather lovable.

Andrea,

I like behind, too! And I always think sitting on a train that people standing must be what it looks like to a child...sometimes not all that appealing, uh? :)

Cris, I like that story too! Bundled up and inkognito (like me) :) Mz Metrohead:)

San, thanks so much for visiting:) and you are so right, urban eccentrics is a agreat description of what you can observe quite often here in Paris:)
