Metroheads - Quickies and Woman with Cane

The scribbled words are a reminder, the whole page is "scribbling". Like doodling, only
a little more precise. Quickly, hurry, or they will be gone.... I let you read your stories in here,
today I'm too lazy to look into their heads...

all of them are so contemplative... the woman with the cane seems more determined... as if she's thinkinkg about something she's made up her mind to do...
like her overall posture and mood...

Hallo Andrea

Herzlichen Dank. Tini

HB:) thanks for your comments which always brighten my day and motivate so much, the people in the metro are forced to contemplate, I like that, they can't do much more else, (well they can look at their cell phones or listen to music or read but...)

Hallo Tini:)

Forced to contemplate, I often wonder what people are thinking on public transit? I think they are not there. their minds are beyond the movement at the next stop of their day, perhaps feeling late. Rushed, never enjoying as you do the moment or making eye contact. Letting this transient moment pass, unnoticed. You capture this so well and then add the contemplative stories. The person in the sun glasses is seeing something is pondering a creative thought. Nice work adding thoughts to their moments on the Metro. enjoy pjc

in Paris.

Schreib mir doch einfach, oben rechts steht meine email adresse..

Peter, hi, thanks so much for your thoughtful comment, and you are right, most of the time people are "projecting" themselves into the moment after the next one, when they are travelling. I think the fact that I draw people helps me to stay in the moment. Sometimes this is difficult, especially when there are lots of people and I can't draw:) then I wish to project myself elsewhere too:) on a quiet mountaintop, a path in the woods etc:)

Well, I would say your doodles are quite impressive, dear Andrea! To me, it is amazing how you do this so quickly and so neatly. I should be so good as to do this. You do inspire me.

I am also very attracted to the blush of color you are using on this page! The lovely explorations of putting color down on these is very exciting to watch!

As always, great work, Andrea. Oh, I don't think it is being lazy to not want to tell a story...sometimes there is just nothing to say! :)

call Miss Doodle and you'd come with a cane ? ;o) hi hi umbrellas can make good weapons too (should be forbidden by dry weather and be allowed with a licence only)

More lovely drawings and Peter said it all for me too. I find myself else where many times when traveling even by car. I think riding or sitting & waiting gives one the permission to be able to get into ones head to mediate on things they dont normally have time for. You're a captive audence at the moment, so to speak, so fill it with thoughts or dreams.

Hi Andrea!
I think that sometimes it's great, (and fun) to leave the audience with a 'fill in the blank' picture. It's often amazing to get their interpretations.
I'm enjoying the 'pondering' of the man in sunglasses.

more well done sketches Andrea.
Like the scratching, the hair on all, the facial expressions, oh to be able to create THAT quickly.

Kim, thanks so much for your comment, I learn so much from all these comments, they are precious to me and oh we inspire each other so much here. With regards to your remarks on the colour in this page, I wanted to use just a little bit of it, only to enhance the volumes..
Yes and the story:) sometimes we can just sit back and watch, and not think about the things we see, that is like drawing:)

Emelire:) Yes Miss Doodle would come with a cane and with her marial arts knowledge, if you'd call her:)

Lynn, thanks for your comment, I don't have time to do much more than these things on the metro, right now, cause so busy getting things tidied up before leaving and taking a break..So I really appreciate being forced to be quick, to let my brain go...
Have a wonderful day, in the Californian sun,
love

Cris, yes I have noticed that too, when driving my car or sitting in a train for a longer journey. And often it can be a very creative "dreamery" too, not always just empty staring, but you are right, one is not THERE, but elsewhere...
I'm thinking of you and Con today!
love
Andrea

Babs: thanks so much for your thoughtful comment, yes I find it so precious what you all have to say about the portraits, and what you think they are thinking, or just the way they look to you!
Thanks so much for these insights,
love
Andrea
