Metroheads - The Tatoo-Girl

Today is Friday, the day we all love, who doesn't love Fridays?

The Girl with the Tatoos - I love her tatoos, two octopus's tentacles, in green and blue, and I just love the way she is IN her book. As I watch her, she smiles, then the smile drops, then she smiles again, and here, suddenly she laughs a low laugh, and oh....now her expression changes from compassionate to very serious, the storyline must take a dramatic turn in this very moment....

Hey Andrea! This is a great painting of Tatoo-Girl! I love watching someone read a book they are really into...all of that expression in their face draws me in, as well! Wonder what the book was? And those tatoos...wow...the shoulder was a perfect place for those swirls. I understand they are painful to get on areas which have bone close... A friend of mine also tells me you have to get the color pumped up with them. I wonder what the ink is made from? While I would not have one, myself, they are an interesting way to express something which is important to people.

Thanks so much for sharing this wonderful Metrohead with us.

Hi Kim:)
I'd love to have one, but don't like the idea of the process to get it, and then, when the skin gets old, the tentacles get old too and then, I guess I would think it gets ugly, but who knows. Well. Just a little thing somewhere on the back? oh but then I don't see it. Hmm, I kind of like the shoulder but then everybody stairs at your shoulder...Oh well, heck, I leave this to the others:) LOL

Tatoo girl is pretty cool. She has snakes or wings on her shoulders. My friend D's daughter had a boyfriend who did his own tatoo. He wanted his whole body tatooed. I like those kind of tatoos you can wash off. I would never want a needle buzzing into my skin. But that's me. Have a great weekend.

I really enjoy these drawings. I'm not an accomplished artist when it comes to drawing......

Personally, I'm not big on tatoos but I must admit they are quite interesting.

Andrea, I am a real chicken when it comes to needles being stuck in my skin...that is a huge thing to keep me from doing this! I have this great book, though, about henna tatoos...do you know about that? It is kind of painted on and stains the skin. It wears away. It is mainly used on the hands of Indian brides. Very beautiful and tedious work! Maybe that would be an option...

Great drawing,,,love the tilt of the head,,,just right for reading.
Oh my,,,tats.
Not for me,either, although I have to admit that had I been a lot youger when this became popular,,,I probably would have had a tiny one,,,and today would probably wish I hadn't. I'm so highly allergic to pain also,,,so that kind of prevents one from being too adventuresome.

Suki, oh, if put that way "a needle buzzing into me" I don't want to have it neither:)

Paula:) thanks so much for your comment, I don't know why, but at the moment I'm fully drawn into drawing:)

Kim, yes I know that there are shops here where you can have Henna tatoos, too. North African women wear it, here less though.
I don't know, I think I have just passed the state in which you need to do affirmative (externally I mean) things like that, and god knows I was in it when I was young, with greenish hair, cut by myself in a punkish way, and grunge clothes oh my...should have seen that girl...

Babs, oh your comment make me laugh too, so at the end, the tat is something which made you have less regrets about things done which cannot be undone anymore:)

You are so observant, you would make a wonderful therapist, you read body language so well. What will you do with this series Andrea? It's looking like another SHOW or BOOK, perhaps? Are you still making fabric designs?
Just wondering.

My daughter in law to be, is hosting a Henna party a few nights before the wedding for women only.
I, alas, won't be in town yet so will have to miss this decorating of the body time. I suppose had I gone I would have allowed one hand to be painted, not my face, and not my arms or shoulders (although I wear a light jacket to the wedding...hummmm?)And no, I'd never do a tatoo, because of the pain and I don't want the permanancy of it on my bod.

Great drawing/painting. It is fun to watch people reading. Not into tatoos it makes me rather feel sad for the beautiful skin we are born with to see it messed up, but that is their choice. You captured a moment wonderfully.

This one is intriguing! Nice tattoos! These spiraling snakes!
I have been away and I see you have made a lot of metroheads again!
Last week I was in Chicago and at the Starbucks a man was sitting at a table and made sketches of customers there. I had to think of you then. Starbucksheads instead of Metroheads :)
I will look at the other post I have missed.............

Love tatoo girl! Suki sent me over to check out your metro heads - haven't been by in a while and always wonder "why not?" when I do stop by. I really like the background colors and the ink people - very effective.
