My little hut in the woods

I'd like to be there now.

The hut has been built a very long time ago, on a little clearing in the middle of the woods.

It's made of old, rather flat stones and has a thatched roof. A gutter and a little chimney too.

Ivy climbes along wooden sticks to form a natural roof over the door.
There are flowerpots in front of two little windows, with the season's flowers.
On the wooden bench with the wrought-iron legs I sit and ponder the miracles of nature.

PS: Miss Doodle is back !

A wonderful little hut and wonderful painting of the little hut. It fills me with longing to be somewhere in my own little hut.

Hi Andrea - thanks for the thanksgiving wishes! Can I come join you in your hut? It's wonderful! Is it a really true hut? or is it your imaginary hut? The only thing I'd add is a cliff with crashing water at the bottom of it - and seals barking (we stayed in a place like that in California one night - wouldn't want to live there because the waves made the ground tremble and it was a very big cliff, but one night was magnificent)

Andrea, can I visit your hut, too? I am ready for a get away, too. I love your hut and I love how you have painted it, too. It looks like a very special place to go and to dream about. I think you have touched on something special for a lot of people.

Hugs Andrea!

Oooooooh, yes!
And I too am wondering if it's a real hut, or your own invented place of solitude.
Beautifully painted,,,whether real or imagined!
We all need a hut from time to time,,,

LOVE THIS COTTAGE HUT. So charming. and I can imagine sitting there day dreaming too.
Love how you drew it. Is this on your Parents property or just somewhere around there?

How adorable! I wish I was there too. Looks like a little fairy cottage from my childhood story books. I always wanted my own little cottage in the woods.

Genie, I wish I could invite all you sweet artist friends for tea there, there is space in the tiniest hut!

Hänsel und Gretel kommen am Sonntag, da gibts Kaffee und Kuchen:)

Suki, Oh, I wonder what your little hut would look like?:) We would all have a little hut in the wood of artists, where we could meet if we want to, or stay in the hut if we want to. We should make a modern art community like that with lots of freedom and love...

Tammy, you can add anything you want to this little hut, so that you feel comfortable:) A cliff with crashing water sounds great, and yes, perhaps half a mile away so that we have some silence too..

This is my imaginary (one of) hut, very useful in moments when I need to be alone and focusing on doing nothing at all:)

Babs, now your comments show under "BABS" which is nice:) This hut is only real in my head, and you are so right, we all need our little hut from time to time:)

Lynn, I wish the world would be as simple (I didn't say that it wouldn't be hard sometimes but still simple and peaceful) as life in my little hut:)

Katie-Jane, yes me too, I wanted my little hut, in a wonderful green place, where I can breathe and simply be. You will see, it's good to paint those little huts!

The little hut stands somewhere in the "Bois de Boulogne"? Or do I confuse with the "Pizza Hut".

Unknown said...

klaproos:) you can bring your dogs and cat, Oscar the cat will be delighted, he loves company:)

Wim, no such huts in the Bois de Boulogne:) I like to think it is in the woods somewhere where I come from, or perhaps in the centre of France...

Yesterday I bought a "Butter-Mandel Stollen Bread" here in La Palma to eat in my hut. Can you buy that in Paris too?
