But sometimes, at certain moments, I wish I would be in a quiet place. This morning was such a moment, which made me paint this little landscape which strangely resembles the landscape where my mom grew up, my grandparents lived and where we all spent our holidays, when I was a kid. Sweet nostalgia catches me sometimes.

Love those dreams. we all need dream's to get us thru the dull days we can experience in daily life. Yours are very vivid and colorful. We can get up and paint our days on canvas how we want them. :)
Andrea is it wonderful what you did with the layers of color here and the quaint little village tucked neatly into the hills with the tall church is lovely. I feel the peacefulness.

Paris is a wonderful place--I once visited Paris but only for a weekend. I wish I had more time to really take in the area--there are so many lovely buildings and museums there. From what I saw of it, it was like an artist's paradise.
Your new landscape piece is lovely. The colors and blending you used really give it a whimsical look. You've captured a tranquil and colorful world.
I have unfortunately never visited Paris much less lived in that wonderful city. I do remember from my reading that author Henry Miller, when he lived in Paris, sought "quiet days in Clichy" wherever that may be.
Andrea, you are a most sensitive artist! This is a beautiful place. I think, some cheese, fruit & wine, a nice big sun hat and a picnic blanket to lie back on and enjoy the scenery!
Oh I recognize this homesick feelings.......
And you know you vcan´t go back or want to but still you have this feeling.
