This is how it goes here, people everywhere, always something to see.
And I have been kissed by a probably homeless man today. When I was on my way from the Metrostation to my afternoon job, I had just bought a sandwich for lunch) a homeless man, shuffling along, he seemed to be slightly disabled, and asked me if I had some coins. I gave him some money, and before I could hurry away, he hugged me and planted a kiss on each cheek. I wasn't so keen on that, but I was so flabbergasted, that I just let him and then I said OkOKOKOK (about a hundred time) awkwardly and then hurried away. After a while I turned and saw him standing there, still smiling at me, and I waved. He waved back.
While I am writing this, I have a "déjà-vu" , the impression that this has happened before, I mean me being kissed by a homeless man, and that I have written on it on my blog, but I'm not sure....
Have a great Thursday,
love

Andrea, This is fabulous. It has lovely color and you capture people with attitude & humor. I think you are getting better at drawing people and you were really good before. Love this whole new style you are adapting.
Oh and.. how funny about the Homeless man. Hope he didnt have swine flu. LOL Sorry.. something comes to mind about the French being asked not to kiss on cheeks at this time because of it. Is this true?
Cris, well they don't really say don't kiss each other on cheeks anymore:) but tell us to wash hands often or use an antiseptics for hand etc etc. Funny, the cheek kissing, too. When you work here, let's say in an office, then you don't kiss your collegues everyday, but always when you go holiday or come back, and some kiss 3 times and some 4, some only two, funny world:) And sometime it's really just a "air" kiss, LOL
I love the people painting, esp the elderly lady and the woman with dog and man with dog poop on shoes. So funny. Well, what an adventure. I think you have written about the homeless before but I dont recall kissing being involved.
Suki:) you make me laugh, well, I think kissing was involved, the other time. I don't know when it was but...ohhhhhh, right now I remember, it was a bum who kissed and licked my HAND!!! arrrggg;;; with a reverence, I remember also being disgusted, I mean I would have also been had he not been a bum (is that correctly said?) but I had no time to take my hand away before it happened. Oh well, that's life in the city!
Wonderful work Andrea.
Sweet of you to give him coins and funny about the kiss. I guess I'd worry about the germs possiblity!
YOur drawings of Parians is simply devine.

This is a delightful post, Andrea! I love the people! I wish I were in Paris right now. Thanks for taking me there in the moment.
Air kisses from Connecticut. LOL Sounds very Hollywood. Lol Like all the people wandering the streets of Paris and in your mind/art to us. Snowed here yesterday. Time to Hibernate. enjoy pjc
Hello Andrea! I adore your Parisians - they are so lively and lovely! You really know how to bring the colors out in so many ways. It is as though we can see those varied personalities popping out.
What a funny story about the homeless man! I do not think I have ever experienced that level of gratitude from a street person. I know it must have been horrifying, but I suppose on some level it was also some kind of human connection he was not used to experiencing...someone so kind! I suppose you couldn't wash your hands enough once you arrived at your afternoon job!
Yesterday I walked in the city and passed a gaggle of homeless men. They were oblivious to me walking along and I actually had to step into the street in order to get around them - the sidewalks are not Paris width!
Have a Great Weekend!
...oh your hands and face, too!
Hey Andrea, long time since I've been here but had such a blast catching up with all your awesome work. What a funny story to start my visit with! I love your drawings of the people around you and the sights of Paris, starting with the tower...so beautiful, can't wait to see more. Enjoyed very much your post on the woman artist that married the banker and now their former home is a museum...luscious! Love the header painting!!! Sounds like the new blog will be just as enjoyable as this one!
Geküsst werden ist immer gut. Küssen auch. Ich hoffe das bleibt auch in Frankreich so.
