Cocoons I.

I have been tagged and will respond to it tomorrow with pleasure. In the meantime:

Acrylic paint on canvans, fabric, pigments, textile colours, feltpen.
30 x 30 cm - 11.8 x 11.8 in
This is a painting inspired by a sketch I did some time ago, the cocoon spirit and I guess I'd like to make a series of cocoon-paintings, something soft and patterned, in contrast to the textile masks.
I also finished this today, I think in reaction of what happened yesterday. Someone stole my purse on the marketplace! This is a mask of my angry self who tries to stay zen. I messed around with about every kind of paint and oil-pastels and crayons I had at hand and in the middle of the process took the piece to the sink to wash some ugly green off it.
Perhaps it is not finished...

You went again to that nice market and someone stole your purse? How awful is that? I am so sorry you had this bad experience. Hard to be ZEN in that moment. Such a drag to have to replace all that was in there. I hope your sketch pad was left home that day!

Your angry face mask tells it all!

Oh no.. So sorry about your purse. I had one stolen years ago and it is such a violation. I hope you could replace things easily and not much was in there.
The mask does tell it all.

Andrea, I can imagine your feeling angry and sad at the same time. I should. Angry because they stole your purse, sad because there are people like that. I can give my last penny away, but then thats MY choice. Nice to see your paintings. Hope today is a better day for you.

I love the cocon painting. And the one of you angry and upset at the theft. The colors in the cocon are so lovely, easy to feast your eyes on.
