Like Summer II.

Yesterday I bought a pack of cheap wax crayons with beeswax on my way to work. You have to work hard on them but I like the surface once you have managed to blend by pressing really hard. It is fun and like a light workout...

Paris is on strike! We spend hours on public transport, waiting at the station for one of the rare busses or metros to come. When it comes by, it is already full, which means that everybody has to squeeze-in on top of everybody else being already inside:).

People are taking it with much philosophy, so do I. But today I'm waery, and I fret, because it has been going on like this for more than a week now. Normally I leave home at around 12 to get to work at 1 pm, and I find it always difficult to tear away from my studio. But right now I have to leave an hour earlier, which cuts off precious studio time

What I'd like to do right now is pictured in the drawing above! We are lucky to have our phantasies:)

Bummer about Paris being on Strike. Seems like Carol of Paris Breakfast ran into the same strike a few weeks ago when she was there. Is this another strike? How maddening. Hope it is resolved soon.
Love the second painting of same subject. It's like you stood back to view the scene far afar. Nice colors of summer.

What a delightful fantasy Andrea. Such bold colors and design. You are the girl running off the page. (Hopefully not to catch a bus! ;-)
Let's hope this strike ends soon.
Enjoy your days. Can you draw on the transport that takes you to work? While waiting? Take a bit of studio time with you? I hope so.

Bummer, yes:) And it is difficult to draw while waiting, impossible on the transport at the moment, as we are all sardines queezed in between sardines.
The strike some weeks ago has only been the announcement of this one, which is really huge and angry. In 1995 they had this for 2 months!!! People just went crazy. The consequence was the necessary reforms concerning retirement where "postponed". And now they have to be done, so we are all in a tight spot:)
Happy Thanksgiving to my dear american blogfriends!

Yikes to the strike. It sounds a nightmare. NO wonder you dream of the beach and the sand. Thanks for the inside view of the strike though. It is easier to imagine the inconveniences created after your descriptions.

I saw a show on TV this morning about using crayons on cloth, how to transfer it, etc. Very informative. DH found this show for me. He's amazing this way.

Crayons are a joy to play with! Too bad about the strike, I hope it ends soon so you can have more time in the studio.
