NEW YEAR - NEW DESIGNS

Happy New Year to everyone who visits my blog, I wish you health and love, peace, joy and success, hope and happyness. Be well. To the friends whom I visit regularly in normal times: I apologize for not being present at the moment - I am neglecting everybody and I will make up for it as soon as I can.
In the meantime brace yourself for the big hug I send you right now: 1 big HUG ! , I'll be back soon.

As a reward for coming here in defiance of my silence, hereunder I show you the latest designs I'll take to the fair!

I gave them names which remind me of my childhood's fairy tales ...

THE KALIF OF BAGDAD
THE PRINCE OF SAMARKAND
THE SHEIK OF ALEXANDRIA THE KING OF KONSTANTINOPEL

THE EMIR OF ISTANBUL
One day later: I woke up in the middle of the night and began thinking about copyright. It is so easy to take these pictures and copy them. If someone out there from the textile industry is hunting images, I better reduce the pictures so that it won't be possible to use them "industrially", but I hope that the little ones still give you a hint of what I'm doing here. Have a wonderful day,
Andrea

wow! what wonderful designs, so rich and bright and cheerful without being "in your face" :-) The titles highlight their mystery and exotic nature... way to go!

OMG.. THESE ARE AWESOME. I love everyone of them. WOW.
I would be hard pressed to pick one over the other but I do love the Shiek of Alexandria and I keep going back to that one. and the one above it that looks like a perfume bottle. How are you doing these? with paint? I can't wait to hear how they go over. You go girl! ;)

Totally, absolutely and amazingly fabulous work. I am mesmerised by the colours and the names.
I long to travel to Constantinople, preferably aboard The Orient Express ;-)

No need to apologise for absence.. you must get your creative ventures done for the show. We can wait. Meanwhile we have these fabulous pictures to drool over.

Gorgeous designs. Luscious colors. I love the gold leafish tones. I'd be hard put to choose one over the other but the first I love as it seems more formal and intricate and the Konstantinople I love, I am reading a book set there. How exotic and life filled these designs feel. Best of luck with them. Have a wonderful time at the show. I know it will be intense but fun too, no?

Have you ever heard of Caroline Quartermaine?(rhetorical question) She designs linens and things,British I believe. I read an article about her--quite interesting. Small beginnings but now a huge success. Like Ralph Lauren and Laura Ashley.

Next up-- Andrea!! :)

They are all wonderful designs. Best of luck with them.

Andrea, we your blog readers can all vouch for the fact that you posted these on, whatever date and that you made them. In a way, your blog verifies that.

However, I understand your fear. Is there a way to put your signature on the photo or write copyright on it or something.??

Hi everybody, thanks for you encouraging comments, I take them with me. Suki, I guess you are right, you can vouch for my copyright on the designs (thanks for suggesting it, that means a lot), and some time ago I put a C for copyright together with "cestandrea" but then I stopped, because if you make it too big, it ruins the photo and if it is too little, it can easily be cut out. Perhaps I should do this again. In general, I just don't care but this night I suddenly was frightened...:)
I had a look at the designers Quatermaine's website, very elegant indeed. I wonder how these people make themselves successful... does it happen by chance or is it all planned and hard work?
Have a wonderful day
Andrea

Yes it was a good idea to go small with your designs. they are so pretty small like that. would make a pretty quilt. ;)
When are you off to Germany? soon? have a safe trip and I hope it is a huge sucess.

Andrea,
Your designs are magnificent and you are working so dililgently. I admire you so much, and thank you for your dear friendship and support. You are a doll and so very talented. Unique designs, colors, process. I love them all but for some reason, the "Kalif jumps out at me just at with Cleaveland Girlie.
Loves and hugs,

These are all amazing, Andrea. And don't you hate it that you have to worry about someone stealing them?

I think my favorites are the prince and the kalif, but not sure why, as they're all stunning. Great colors and lines...

Big hugs to you, too...

Thanks Andrea for your nice comments... I loved your reflection on "The Return".

Wish you many happy returns.

I've explained about that name you could find in the Snow poem.
You're very sharp!

Hi andrea. Glad to hear you are back and hope your time away was fruitful. Thanks for the comment on my "Mountain" post, for your kind thoughts. Choices are often hard esp for people who don't leap with abandon. Maybe we don't really know what we want but sometimes we think we do and that gives some direction. But then things happen that we never imagined and life takes us on paths we never dreamed so all the thinking falls by the wayside. I'm so fascinated to hear about your recent adventure. I imagine you are recovering and also preparing for your next adventure--the mask show. Be well and of good cheer, Suki
