The Watching Spirit

The Watching Spirit, which is in fact a female spirit, had to wait a long time for her finishing. It had no head-dress or hat or hair, and I didn't like her with just the oval framing. I finally gave her crocheted and knotted silkthread hair, which I died blue to remind the blue in her face. I like her now. She looks friendly but serious:)

Oh my gosh Andrea she is absolutely stunning. That is an amazing piece of work, I wish I could see it in person.

So lovely. Is it a self portrait? The Watcher. I love the blue hair flopping about above her scarf. I want to come to see your show when it happens.!!

I'm going to be raiding your blog for ideas. I got some of the yummiest hand made yarn at the show over the weekend, and the woman who spins it is local and says she will make me custom yarns for my masks and torsos. woohoo! Now if I can capture your energy in my masks, I'll have some grand creations! We need to plan to meet in the middle (um, that's the Atlantic Ocean...um, maybe somewhere else) and do a show together! Your gorgeous creations and my new Sacred line.... =]!!!!!

actually, I know a little shop that might put on a show of your work - I could be your representative over here......I'll have to talk with the owners. On my list!

I absolutely love the colors here, especially the deep torquoise. I love the hair knotted as you did, and the painting is terrific as well. I do like her expression.
Not sure yet what she makes me feel. I will ponder her longer before I decide. Happy for you to have finished her to your liking.

thanks for all you comments, I am so glad "she" captured your attention. I guess you are right, Suki, I thought too that this is part of a multi-headed self-portrait:) Tammy I'd love to do a show together in the middle:) Have fun raiding my blog for ideas, I'm glad if it inspires. I'm soo jealous of the hand made yarn, I'll have to look for some new undyed silk yarn I used my stock and the yarn shop where I bought it doesn't exist anymore, arrrrg. Looked on the net for thick undyed silkyarn but couldn't find any.

Andrea. Check out recent Paris Breakfast post for CHOCOLATE masks. It's about 2/3 down. I think they're in Paris too. Just think, you could eat a mask.!!!
