Fragments 6 and 7 - Poppies

Sitting here with my friend, the electric fan....it's sizzling hot in Paris, girls in their summer dresses, boys in shorts, this morning I tried a new technique with oilpastels on brown bark paper. The opaque pastels cover the paper completely, but I left a border so that there the beautiful structure of the bark paper can be seen. I'll show you a picture of that as soon as it's finished. It's 50 x 60 cm, and needs TIME. Have a wonderful day, wherever you may be, whatever weather you may be in....

So for now, here are two more pieces of the "Fragments - Poppies" Series:

Hi Cris, thanks for your comment on the colors! And I'll have to leave my friend the fan right now, heading out into the desert's heat...:)

Dear Andrea,
Thanks for sending me your message! Thanks for your good wishes - we are very much hoping things will get better soon, I see some tiny improvements but my husband has a long way to go. I cannot paint but am spending any spare time with my art books and doing a bit of thinking.
Love Dianne
